Biography
A graduate of the University of Victoria (BA in Anthropology), the University of Alberta (BFA in Acting), The Citadel/Banff Theatre Program and The Stratford Festival’s Birmingham Conservatory, Amanda works across Canada, including three seasons at the Stratford Festival (Titus Andronicus, Cyrano de Bergerac, The Tempest, Zastrozzi, The Grapes of Wrath, Macbeth), Alberta Theatre Projects (Betty Mitchell Award for Outstanding Performance for Venus in Fur), The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre (It’s a Wonderful Life, and a Winnipeg Theatre Award Nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in 23.5 Hours), The Segal Centre (What’s in a Name, Othello, and a Montreal English Theatre Nomination for Outstanding Supporting Performance in Noises Off), and many more performances with Theatre Aquarius, The Arts Club, The Citadel and others. Born and raised in Victoria, Amanda loves working on the island with Theatre SKAM, Giggling Iguana, Pacific Opera Victoria, Kaleidoscope Theatre, The Belfry and Blue Bridge (Arms in the Man, Uncle Vanya, Private Lives, The 39 Steps, The Master Builder and My Fair Lady (for which she received Critic’s Choice and M Awards). Her work in comedy and improv includes training with The Second City in Toronto and performing locally with Sin City Improv and Atomic Vaudeville. Her film and TV credits include Suits, iZombie, Reign, Taken, Carter, Bajillionaires, The Listener, The Twilight Zone, Arrow, Supernatural, Copper, The L.A. Complex, Psych , A Veteran’s Christmas, and Private Eyes. Amanda’s teaching experiences include work with The Stratford Festival’s Teaching Shakespeare Program, the St. Michael’s University School Summer Voice Academy, Saltwater Creative Arts and private coaching.
