Kirsten Van Ritzen

Kirsten has worked across Canada and is a very busy professional actor, producer and writer. She has performed hundreds of improv shows. In Victoria, she stars in and produces the very popular Sin City, The Live Improvised Serial. She performed in and co-produced five seasons of Sin City at The Second City Toronto, garnering a Canadian Comedy Award Nomination. Kristen is a founding member of Edmonton’s Award-winning Die – Nasty improv troupe. She has performed at the Chicago Improv Festival, and has taught for The Second City, York University, Randolph Academy, Vancouver Theater sports, PFMA and more.
Kirsten is Executive Producer of She Kills Me TV series for APTN. She acted in Dark Waters of Crime and Kill For Me. Recent theatre performances include Small-town a Pickup Musical (Theatre Skam), That Face (Langham), Chorus/Line Cabarets (Gotta Getta Gimmick); Fringe-Provise Me, All My Day Jobs (Broad Theatrics), and Hana’s Suitcase (Kaleidoscope Theatre). Kirsten is the author of The Comedy Diva Diaries; her solo play All My Day Jobs is published in One For The Road (Signature Editions). Kirsten also teaches stand-up comedy, and often performs in comedy shows around town. She is a member of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association, ACTRA/UBCP, Writers Guild of Canada, and Playwrights Guild of Canada.
