This workshop will focus on on-the-spot scene diagnostics, ensemble work and longform scene tactics taught and utilized at the legendary Upright Citizen’s Brigade and Second City comedy theatres. Learn how to attack the stage and crush, every time.

Level 3: Comedy Pro

What makes a scene funny? The Comedy Pro workshop will use improv to break down why it is we laugh at characters in TV, film and commercials, providing students with the skills necessary to nail any written comedic scene with ease. This workshop is for actors that want to take their comedic performances and scene analysis skills to the next level with improv tactics taught and used at the legendary Second City theatre in Toronto.

Level 4: Sketch Writing Through Improv

Acting is a competitive business and actors often have to rely on the approval of gatekeepers to get the opportunity to perform or move their careers forward. Cut out the middleman! Sketch Writing through Improv is for students that have the desire to use their acting skills to create their own sketch comedy material. Learn how to use improv to create and pitch a premise, work in an ensemble and heighten and explore your own great ideas.
